Welcome to WILD VALLEY GLASS Studio

and the fabulous world of

FUN & FUNCTIONAL FUSED GLASS ART!

ABOUT FUSED GLASS. Fused glass is an ancient art form dating back over 4000 years. This glass has been heat processed in a kiln to ~1500F to fuse the layers of glass together causing colors to blend and shapes to shift slightly creating interesting visual nuances. The piece is fired again to ~1200F for slumping into a shape.

ABOUT THE STUDIO.
Wild Valley Glass Studio was started in 2018 by Mary.  Mary & Nancy have been friends since their 20s and are having a blast as studio mates.  They learned the fundamentals under the guidance of Diana Chase, a Dallas glass artist who created enormous glass masterpieces for churches, businesses and private residences all over the country.

Starting in 2014 with a basic class  - they quickly realized Fused Glass was the perfect art form!  After many years of working as part of the “Studio 5” group at Diana’s, Wild Valley Glass studio was created.

Both artists are consistent blue ribbon winners at the State Fair of Texas and their works can be found in homes and offices around the world.  They have been featured in shows at the Texas Visual Artists Association Gallery in downtown Dallas, TX, the 2020 gallery in Plano, TX , the Dallas Cultural Arts Center at Whiterock Lake and Nancy is currently represented by THE MODERN COUNTRY GALLERY in Winnsboro, TX.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS.
Mary is a lifelong creative who illustrates her delight in whimsy, color, and fantastical creatures in all her art pieces.
Nancy also delights in whimsy & color and, as a retired engineer, she likes exploring new forms and functions in glass fusing which keeps the studio processes updated.

Nancy has studied with Diane Flynn at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas, Morgan Dougherty & Justin Skillstad at Bullseye Glass in Santa Fe, NM, and Martha Pfanschmidt of Port Townsend, WA.

During COVID, with the shift to online learning, she has continued to study under renowned notables in Master Classes with Bob Leatherbarrow, Catherine Dunstan, Paul Tarlow, Tim Carey, Ted Sawyer, and Narcissus Quagliata.
